KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) — Firefighters in Kansas City responded to a house fire early Wednesday morning in the 3600 block of Benton Boulevard.

Firefighters initially launched an interior attack using three hose lines but were forced to withdraw due to concerns about the building’s stability. They then transitioned to a defensive strategy, battling the fire from outside the structure.

Officials reported that two neighboring two-story homes, along with a detached garage, also caught fire. Multiple crews worked with several hose lines to contain the spread of the flames.

By approximately 5 a.m., the fires were brought under control. Authorities said one of the homes was occupied, while the other two were vacant. The American Red Cross was called in to assist one displaced adult.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
