It is with profound sorrow that we remember and honor the life of Matthew “Matt” Klenk of Ambridge, a beloved pastor, friend, and servant of faith whose passing has left an immeasurable void in his family, congregation, and the entire community.
Pastor Matt faithfully served as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church Ambridge and Grace Bible Church New Brighton, where he dedicated his life to teaching the Gospel and sharing the love of Christ. He also served with Church Army USA, further extending his ministry beyond the pulpit and into the lives of those in need.
Matt was known as a true man of God—someone who didn’t just preach faith, but lived it daily. His compassion, humility, and unwavering commitment to serving others made a lasting impact on everyone he encountered. Whether through sermons, one-on-one conversations, or community outreach, he had a unique ability to meet people where they were and uplift them with encouragement and love.
His work in the community was especially meaningful. Through initiatives like feeding programs and outreach efforts, Matt showed what it truly meant to give selflessly. He didn’t seek recognition—he simply showed up, served, and cared. His presence on 11th Street and throughout Ambridge became a beacon of hope and kindness for many.
Beyond his ministry, Matt was a genuine friend—someone who shared laughter, conversation, and real connection. He inspired others not only to grow in faith but to become better people. His authenticity, humor, and warmth made him deeply loved by those who knew him.
He leaves behind his beloved daughter Bella, along with extended family including his sister Patty Klenk Rohm, and cousins Carol Ann and Jacqueline Hesselman Hudson. His love for his family was evident, and his legacy will continue through them and the countless lives he touched.
As the Beaver County community mourns, it also celebrates a life lived with purpose, faith, and love. Pastor Matt truly “fought the good fight” and leaves behind a legacy that will continue to inspire.
To his family, congregation, and all who loved him, we extend our deepest condolences. May you find strength in one another and comfort in the enduring impact of his life.
Rest in peace, Pastor Matt Klenk. Your work, your faith, and your love will never be forgotten.
