Tessa, a student at Park Hill High School, was remembered as a dedicated scholar and talented athlete. She was actively involved in volleyball, girls’ flag football, and track, and was a committed participant in the AVID college-readiness program throughout all four years of high school.

Her hard work earned her multiple honors, including academic scholarships from Northwest Missouri State University, the Park Hill Education Foundation, and KC Scholars. She had planned to attend Northwest Missouri State in the fall.

“Tessa was special to so many… her passing leaves a hole in countless hearts,” said her teacher and volleyball coach, Lindsey Hood.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 4:20 a.m. on Missouri Highway 45 near North Main Street in Farley, Missouri. A 2024 BMW M4 sedan carrying four teenagers left the roadway, overturned, and caught fire.

Tessa, who was a passenger, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two other teenage passengers were hospitalized with injuries ranging from minor to severe.

Officials closed the highway for several hours as crews investigated the crash.

Tessa is remembered not only for her achievements but for her character, dedication, and the positive impact she had on those around her.
