It is with deep sorrow that the Town of Chelmsford and its community announce the passing of retired Firefighter John Robinson, who dedicated more than three decades of his life to protecting and serving others. Firefighter Robinson passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of courage, service, and devotion to his community that will be remembered for generations.

John Robinson began his career with the Chelmsford Fire Department on September 8, 1988. Over the next 33 years, he answered countless calls for help, facing emergencies with unwavering bravery and a steadfast commitment to the safety of his neighbors. Known for his professionalism, integrity, and kind heart, John became a respected figure not only within the fire department but also throughout the Chelmsford community.

Throughout his career, John demonstrated extraordinary courage and dedication. From responding to residential fires to assisting in community emergencies, he exemplified the highest standards of public service. Colleagues recall his calm demeanor in critical situations, his ability to lead under pressure, and his willingness to mentor younger firefighters, passing down his knowledge and expertise to ensure the safety and success of future generations in the department.

Funeral arrangements have been made to honor John Robinson’s remarkable life. The wake will take place at Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen Street, Chelmsford, MA, on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a uniformed walkthrough at 4:00 PM. Members of other fire departments are invited to participate, meeting at the funeral home no later than 3:30 PM. The funeral service will be held at St. Mary’s Church, 25 North Road, Chelmsford, MA, on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 11:00 AM.
