Man Accused of Punching Dog to Death, Then Handing It to Girlfriend in Shocking Animal Cruelty Case

A Michigan man is facing felony charges after prosecutors say he brutally killed his girlfriend’s small dog and then handed the lifeless animal back to her in a disturbing incident caught on video.

According to authorities in Sterling Heights, 31-year-old Fouad Yosif Yaldo allegedly picked up the 8-year-old Yorkshire Terrier, named Teddy, and struck the dog multiple times “with great force.”

Investigators say the attack occurred on November 6, 2025. After the dog stopped moving, Yaldo reportedly realized the severity of the injuries, picked the animal up, and carried it over to his then-girlfriend. The dog died in her arms moments later.

Prosecutors noted that the incident was captured on video, which has become a key piece of evidence in the case.

Yaldo has since been charged with third-degree killing or torturing an animal, a felony that carries a potential prison sentence if convicted. A judge set his bond at $75,000, and conditions of his release include no contact with animals and GPS monitoring.

Officials described the case as deeply troubling, emphasizing that acts of violence against animals are taken seriously and often raise broader concerns about safety and behavior.

The case has sparked outrage among animal advocates and community members, with many calling for stricter penalties in cases involving cruelty to pets. Yaldo is expected to return to court for further proceedings as the case moves forward.
