Three people were hospitalized following a crash in Town of Antwerp, New York on Monday.
According to officials, the collision occurred around noon on Route 11, just south of the village of Antwerp, involving an SUV and a passenger car. The impact forced the car off the roadway and into a ditch.
Accident ; Three Injured in Crash Near Antwerp in Jefferson CountyFire crews, led by Antwerp Fire Chief Jeff Sands, responded to the scene. Emergency responders used the jaws of life and other tools to free one individual trapped inside the vehicle.
Two of the injured were transported to Samaritan Medical Center, while a third person was airlifted to a hospital in Syracuse, New York for treatment.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the cause of the crash.
