A 4-year-old girl is recovering after falling from a third-floor window early Wednesday morning on Chicago’s South Side.
The incident occurred around 3:30 a.m. in the 3600 block of South Lake Park Avenue in the Oakland neighborhood. According to police, the child was inside a residence when she fell through a window screen and out of the third-floor window.
Emergency responders transported the girl to Comer Children’s Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries and is reported to be in good condition.
Authorities have not yet determined the exact circumstances that led to the fall. However, police have classified the incident as a non-criminal, accidental injury.
The investigation remains ongoing.
