A homicide investigation is underway after a fatal shooting in Norfolk Tuesday night, police confirmed.
Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and arrived to find a victim suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency medical personnel attempted life-saving measures at the scene, but the individual was pronounced dead.
Authorities quickly secured the area, establishing a perimeter as detectives and crime scene investigators began gathering evidence. Officials have not yet released the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
